Activity Level: Active
Double Occupancy: $4,495 per person
Single Occupancy: $5,390 per person

Trip Highlights
From the winding alleys of Fès to the quiet mountain paths above Imlil, this OLLI Corps program offers a close-up look at Morocco—its history, its people, and the questions it’s asking today.
We’ll begin in Rabat, Morocco’s coastal capital, with a guided visit to Hassan Tower and the Mohammed V Mausoleum. In Fès, we’ll stay in a restored riad in the heart of the medina—just steps from the tanneries, souks, and spice stalls. There, you’ll try your hand at traditional tile painting, guided by a local pottery artisan.
In Marrakech, we’ll visit the Jewish quarter, cook our first tajines, and walk the markets by day and night. One afternoon includes a conversation with a local Imam; another features a Q&A with Moroccan students and young professionals. A full day is spent with the High Atlas Foundation, planting trees and visiting a women’s cooperative.
On our last days, we’ll hike to a home in the High Atlas Mountains, where an Amazigh family welcomes us for lunch. We’ll also meet the team at Project Soar, which supports teen girls in rural communities. Evenings include shared meals, open time, and a final night of music and henna in Marrakech.
Throughout, Dr. Sharon Nagy, a cultural anthropologist, will provide context and lead reflective discussions. She’s traveled this route many times before, and will be on hand to guide and also learn with the group.
Accommodations are in small, locally owned riads and boutique hotels. Daily schedules balance movement and downtime. This is a trip for those who enjoy walking cities, engaging across cultures, and traveling with fellow learners who bring their own questions to the table.

Croatia & Its Islands: Small Ship Cruising on the Adriatic Coast
By: Collette

Activity Level: Moderately challenging
Double Occupancy: from $6,999 per person
Single Occupancy: from $9,799 per personIncludes roundtrip airfare from Greenville-Spartanburg; pricing depends on cabin deck level
Trip Highlights
Explore Croatia from inland capital to island coves on this 12-day land and sea journey. The program begins in Zagreb, where a local guide will lead us past the Croatian Parliament and through the Stone Gate into the heart of the city. From there, we head to Vodice, with time in Krka National Park to walk wooded paths and boat to the town of Skradin.
The second half of the program is spent aboard a small ship cruising the Adriatic, with seven nights on the water. Ports include Šibenik, where we’ll visit the Cathedral of St. James; Trogir, with its stone courtyards and Venetian architecture; and Split, home to Diocletian’s Palace. There’s time ashore in Bol on Brač Island and an afternoon in Hvar Town, after a drive from the port at Stari Grad. Weather permitting, we’ll stop at Biševo’s Blue Cave and visit the island of Vis—once a Yugoslav naval base, now a quiet coastal town.
On Korčula, we’ll visit the supposed birthplace of Marco Polo. The route continues to Mljet National Park, with a walk around its saltwater lakes and a visit to a 12th-century monastery. A vineyard dinner on the Pelješac Peninsula follows, before the cruise ends in Dubrovnik, where our final day includes a walking tour inside the city walls and time on the Stradun.
Travelers stay in centrally located hotels in Zagreb and Vodice, and the cruise features a private ship with deck-level options. A two-night post-tour extension in Dubrovnik and Cavtat is available for those who want to extend their time along the coast.
This program includes guided tours, historical visits, free time, and daily meals. Designed for OLLI members who enjoy a balance of structure and personal exploration, the trip involves walking on uneven terrain, boarding small boats, and navigating historic areas with limited accessibility.
