Active members are the creative lifeblood of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Clemson University.  They are involved in every aspect of OLLI operations and programming. Nearly 250 volunteers work with three staff members to bring OLLI classes, lectures, events, and programs to you!

We are always looking for fresh ideas, talents and skills.

  1. Meet interesting people!  The OLLI community is as diverse as its membership and volunteering is a great way to make new acquaintances.

  2. Make a difference in your regional lifelong learning community!  Your volunteer service matters. There are many ways to volunteer to help support the work of OLLI, and to ensure your regional lifelong learning community remains interesting, vibrant, provocative, satisfying and fun.

  3. Earn perks!  OLLI instructors are volunteers, and instructors who are OLLI members earn course credits for teaching.

  4. Be recognized!  OLLI volunteers are honored at an annual recognition event which features music, food and prizes.  And the OLLI Board of Advisors recognizes one outstanding individual each year with the Fuller-McGuire Presidential Award.

  5. It’s good for you!  Numerous studies show that while you are giving back to an organization like OLLI, you can experience less stress and more joy, which is shown to strength the mind and body.
